Competition Services
Awards & Points

What are the benefits of submitting points to AQHA?

Every year AQHA receive hundreds of point lodgements from our competitive members.

These points are submitted by Show Committees for approved shows (AQHA “A” & “AA” Class shows) or directly by the member for unapproved shows, such as B Shows, Rodeo’s, Campdrafts, Pony Club, Ag Shows etc within 14 days of the show or event.

It is our aim to have a 48 hour turnaround time for points processing and entering in our database, however this is not always possible in peak season’s such as during preparations for the National Show and end of points’ year calculations.

Once points are tallied in our system they have 3 main effects:

1. The points are reflected under the horse (or Amateur & Youth in those classes) on the
online studbook which updates every Thursday night.
2. “A” & “AA” Points calculate towards end of year awards, the current leaders of these
awards for each category are listed under Top Ten Members and Top Ten Horses.
3. Points calculate towards Awards which are generated on monthly basis. Lodging points can
    reward you with a:

  • Register of Merit
  • Superior
  • Bronze, Silver and Gold Century
  • Champion
  • Supreme Champion
  • Performance Medal
  • Award of Honour
  • Certificate of Achievement
  • Special Recognition
