Registry Services - Leases
Procedures

When Notifying the Association regarding the Lease of a Quarter Horse, the following must be provided to the Australian Quarter Horse Association:

Step 1: Original Registration Certificate or recording certificate for the horse.

Download the Notification of Lease of Horses.

NB: Horses must be leased for a minimum of 12 months to be recognised by the AQHA.
During the term of this lease the Australian Quarter Horse Association recognises, for our records only, that the lessee/s is the owner of the above said horse for the purpose of points, winnings and/or breeding

The Notification must be signed by the lessee/s and lessor/s

The original registration certificate must accompany this form and will be held in the office for the duration of the lease. The form is a Notification of Lease only for AQHA purposes only – it is not a legal contract.

Current fee: check here.

After a horse has been accepted by AQHA for a lease, a notation of the lease is recorded on the original registration certificate.
