Becoming An Affiliate

There are many advantages in becoming an AQHA Affiliate, with this letter highlighting some of these advantages as well as provide you all the information you will require should you wish to apply to become an AQHA Affiliate.

Membership Year
Our membership year runs from 1st August to 31st July each year, this easy to remember as it starts the same day as the horse's birthday.

All AQHA Memberships fall due on 1st August each year.

Public Liability Insurance
Possibly the most important part of the Affiliate program is the ability for Affiliates to participate in the AQHA Public Liability Insurance Scheme.

The AQHA policy is provided by AON Insurance, and offers Public Liability Insurance at a very competitive rate. Download the Affiliated Clubs Insurance Package for more information. The amount differs each year; however it is positive to note that the cost to Affiliates was cheaper for the 2007-2008 membership year compared with the previous year.

Affiliates are invoiced on a yearly basis for their insurance scheme levy. If an Affiliate is experiencing difficulty in paying their premium annually they are more than welcome to request in writing for a payment plan, however payment plans are at the discretion of the AQHA.

We have included in the information pack, a copy of the "AON Explanation of Policies" which should provide all the information you require regarding Insurance.

Affiliate Entitlement Program
The Affiliate entitlement program rewards Affiliates for promoting the Quarter Horse.

Rewards are calculated on a points system and these points convert in to a dollar value which you can use to buy merchandise or pay your membership, virtually anything other than pay your Public Liability Insurance.

Rules & Regulations
The Rules & Regulations of the AQHA are outlined in the AQHA Official Handbook.
