AQHA Online Membership Renewal 2011/2012

TYPES OF MEMBERSHIPS as at 1st August 2011

FULL MEMBERSHIP

– is for the individual person – only 1 person can be named on this type of membership. The person holding a Full Membership is entitled to attend and vote at meetings of the Association and has one vote in the Election of Directors.

A Full membership can have horses registered in their name, submit breeding returns, transfer horses etc in or out of their membership.
Members holding a Full membership have full showing rights and are entitled to submit points for their horses.

If a Full member wishes anyone other than themselves to sign any AQHA paperwork on their behalf, then we must have a current Signatory Authorisation Form on file.
Amateur – Members wishing to apply for Amateur status must hold a current financial Full membership.

YOUTH MEMBERSHIP

– is for individuals who are 18 years and under as of 1st August in the preceding year. Youth members are eligible to attend and speak at meetings of the Association but are NOT entitled to vote at these meetings or vote in the Election of Directors. A Youth member cannot stand for election to the Board of Directors of the AQHA.

Applications for Youth membership, renewal of membership, registration applications, transfers etc in or out of their name must be signed by the nominee of their membership (Parent/Guardian).

Youth members have full showing rights and are entitled to submit points.

Youth members can only have 2 horses registered in this Youth membership.

Youth members cannot have a Colt/Stallion registered in their name.

LIFE MEMBERSHIP – for corporations, partnerships.

– for Corporations, Partnerships, Societies

A Life membership is for a period of 20 years from the date of payment of subscription.

A partnership is a type of business entity in which partners (owners) share with each other the profits or losses of the business.

A Life membership in the name of a partnership or corporation must have a nominee who is entitled to attend and vote at meetings of the Association and has one vote in the Election of Directors.

The nominee is the only person eligible to sign registration applications, transfer horses in and out of the membership, submit breeding returns, lodged points for the horses that are registered in that membership etc. At State and National Show level, horses registered in the name of this membership can be show if the membership is financial. The nominee cannot show horses at State or National Level they must be an individual member in their own right. (Full Membership)

An individual Life membership can have horses registered in their name, submit breeding returns, transfer horses in or out of their membership, have full showing rights and are entitled to submit points for their horses.

CONSTITUENT MEMBERSHIP

– is for corporations, partnerships, societies and the like.

A Partnership is a type of business entity in which partners (owners) share with each other the profits or losses of the business.

A Constituent membership must have a nominee who is entitled to one vote on behalf of that membership at any meeting of the Association and have one vote in the Election of Directors. The nominee is the only person eligible to sign registration applications, transfer horses in and out of the membership, submit breeding returns, lodge points for the horses that are registered in that membership etc. At State and National Show level, horses registered in the name of this membership can be show if the membership is financial. The nominee cannot show horses at State or National Level they must be an individual member in their own right.

ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP

– is for individuals, corporations, partnerships, association, societies and the like who may wish to have connections with the industry through the magazine and any circulars which may be sent to members.

An Associate member does not have any voting privileges and cannot register any horses in that Membership.
