TYPES OF MEMBERSHIPS

FULL MEMBERSHIP

- is for the individual person – only 1 person can be named on this type of membership. The person holding a Full Membership is entitled to one vote and attend any meetings of the Association and one vote in the Election of Directors.

A Full membership can have horses registered in their name, submit breeding returns and transfer horses in or out of their membership.

Members holding a Full membership have showing rights and are entitled to submit points for their horses.

YOUTH MEMBERSHIP

- is for individuals who are 18 years and under as of 1st August in the preceding year. Youth members are eligible to attend and speak at meetings of the Association but are not entitled to vote.

Applications for Youth membership, renewal of membership, registration application, transfers in or out of their name must be signed by the nominee of their membership. (parent/guardian).

LIFE MEMBERSHIP

- for any persons, corporations or partnerships.  A Life membership is for a period of 20 years from the date of payment of subscription.

If the Life membership is in the name of a partnership or corporation then the nominee of the Life membership is entitled to one vote at any meeting of the Association and one vote in the Election of Directors. The nominee is the only person eligible to sign registration applications, transfer horses in and out of the membership, submit breeding returns and entitled to submit points for their horses. The nominee is the only person who has showing rights under this membership and can submit points on behalf of this membership.

If the Life membership is in the name of an individual then that individual is entitled to one vote at any meeting of the Association and one vote in the Election of Directors. An individual Life membership can have horses registered in their name, submit breeding returns and transfer horses in or out of their membership and have showing rights and are entitled to submit points for their horses.

CONSTITUENT MEMBERSHIP

– is for corporations, partnerships, societies and the like. Each Constituent membership has one nominee who is the person entitled to attend any meetings of the Association and the only person eligible to vote at said meetings and eligible to cast one vote in the Election of Directors.

The nominee of this membership is the person authorised to sign on behalf of this membership.

A Constituent membership can have horses registered in their name, submit breeding returns, transfer horses in and out of their membership.

Only the nominee of a Constituent membership is eligible to show horses at State or National shows.

Only the nominee of a Constituent membership is eligible to hold Amateur status.

If a person who is part of a Constituent membership, other than the nominee, wishes to hold Amateur Status then they must take out a Full membership.

If a person who is part of a Constituent membership, other than the nominee, wishes to show at State or National shows then they will have to apply for either a Full membership or Associate membership.

ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP

- this type of membership can only be applied for by an individual who is part of an existing Constituent membership. An Associate member is entitled to attend and speak at any meetings of the Association but does not have voting rights at any meetings or in the Election of Directors.

An Associate member cannot have horses registered in that Associate membership name.
