statistics are unmatched even to this day.
Winderadeen Peppycose was purchased at 5 months of age, known as “Cody”, and is sired by Little Peppy Doc (imp) 6 times top 2 leading sire and his dam is Picosa Mendiga (imp) a top 5 leading performing dam for many years.

geldings in Australia.
‘Cody’ was retired in 1994 due to bone
degeneration, after amassing 1785.5 life time AQHA points in a life total of 88 shows with a show average of 20 AQHA points during a time when futurity events did not gain any points].
As a yearling halter horse, ‘Cody was awarded the AQHA Superior Award in Halter, winning 3 Yearling Halter Futurities and was Champion Halter Gelding of the Australian Quarter Horse Championships, NSW Quarter Horse
Championships and VIC Quarter Horse
Championships earning $10,000 in his first year.
In the seven year period from 1988 until 1994 he was undefeated Grand Champion Halter Gelding at the NSW Quarter Horse
Championships, 2 time Grand Champion at Halter at the Australian Quarter Horse
Championships ultimately earning all awards up to and including Halter Gold Century Award with 328.5 halter points.
Winderadeen Peppycose was awarded his AQHA Performance Champion Award at 2 years of age and at retirement he had been awarded a total of 40 AQHA Awards including the AQHA Special Recognition Award in September 1994. Cody accumulated his 1785.5 AQHA points and awards at major shows under the majority of American Judges who graced our shores.
Cody has been the winner of 27 performance Futurities, in Western Pleasure, Hunter Under Saddle, Trail and Versatility events at
prestigious shows such as National Pleasure Horse Association (NPHA), NSW & VIC Quarter Horse Championships, the Southern Circuit events at Lillydale (VIC), Halter Extravaganza and Australian Quarter Horse Championship Futurities.
In 1994 Winderadeen Peppycose was the‘Super Horse” title at the Australian Quarter Horse Congress, winning the much competed for and coveted ‘Straight Arrow’ limited edition Bill French bronze sculpture valued at $14,000 after competing in Halter, Western Pleasure, Hunter Under Saddle, Trail and Reining events.
Cody has held 21 Australian Quarter Horse Championships in his short career, and has covered a multitude of events such as Western Riding, Dressage, Showmanship, Equitation, Horsemanship, Trail, Reining, Western
Pleasure, Hunter Under Saddle and Halter.
Not only has Winderadeen Peppycose proven himself a most capable and versatile individual, but also a gentleman that has over the years carried a number of Youth to significant wins such as John Mitchell’s win the NPHA Super Sires Western Pleasure Futurity and 2nd in the NPHA Youth Western Pleasure Futurity, Kristy Gray who was so small she had to watch the Judge under his neck in the Showmanship class and attracted great applause for her effort and Melissa Green [nee Dean] won 3 AQHA National Showmanship titles with Cody, not to mention American Quincy Cahill’s NPHA win in Youth Showmanship.
Winderadeen Peppycose was the featured Quarter Horse in a Burke’s Backyard
television special as part of the “Road Test”
series running free at full speed, quickly
stopping and rolling back to be at full speed again only to stop square and alert, a free
moving, athletic specimen as kind and willing as he has been throughout his career.
