Due to the Equine Influenza crisis Amateur Division sponsorship will resume in 2009. The embroidered rugs will be automatically sponsored to State Shows only.

AQHA Affiliates can apply for sponsorship in the form of Merchandise from the Amateur Division.

2007/2008 Amateur Clinics


Introduction

Amateur Clinic Funding is an initiative of AQHA to encourage, support and promote the development of Amateurs within the Australian Quarter Horse and Western Industry.

AQHA aims to encourage Affiliates to hold Amateur clinics throughout each state of Australia, to achieve their aim they have made funds available to Affiliates to assist with the cost of involved in running high quality clinics.

Affiliates can apply for a subsidy of $500.00 per clinic which is to go towards the cost of trainers, travel and any other clinic costs that may occur.

Funding is allocated on a per state basis with the number of clinics per state being as follows:

Victoria   2 Clinics
New South Wales  2 Clinics
Queensland   3 Clinics
South Australia   1 Clinic
Western Australia 1 Clinic
Tasmania 1 Clinic
Northern Territory 1 Clinic 


How does it work

Applications for Amateur Clinic subsidies are to be submitted on the official application form, which is to be fully completed and returned to:

Any Affiliate can apply for an Amateur Clinic; they are not restricted to State Affiliates.

It is preferred that clinics are held during school holidays or on a long weekend.

The Affiliate Coordinator will ensure that the relevant information has been received then forward a copy to the Amateur Convenor will access each application.

If your application is approved you will then be able to take the logistical steps required to organise and run your Amateur Clinic.


AQHA's Commitment


The AQHA will provide a $500.00 subsidy for the approved Affiliate hosting the Clinic, this payment is paid to the Affiliate after the clinic is held and on the submission and approval of the subsidy claim form once it is evidenced that all criteria has been met.

The AQHA will also provide promotional material such as stickers and brochures to be used during the clinics.

If requested the AQHA may also provide merchandise including caps at a discounted rate for the Affiliate to sell as a fundraiser.

AQHA will advertise the clinic on their website, upon receipt of artwork from Affiliate.


What is the Organising Clubs Committment

The Affiliate is to ensure that they have adequate funding enabling them to run a successful Amateur clinic.

The Affiliate will conduct the entire logistical organisation for the smooth running of the clinic, including but not restricted to booking the arena, coordination with Trainers etc.

The Affiliate will also forward photos and an article for publication in Quarter Horse News to the AQHA within 14 days after the completion of the Camp Quarter Horse.

Affiliates may charge a cover charge to assist with costs, however this charge is to be kept to a minimum and is not to be charged to make a profit on the clinic. Costs to participants must be kept at a minimum.

Additional Criteria

- Clinics are only open to Financial AQHA Amateur members

- Minimum of 10 riders per clinic.

- Affiliates must ensure that the clinic is advertised in at least 1 edition of Quarter Horse News.

Application

Attachment 1a is an “Application to hold a Amateur Clinic”, any Affiliate wishing to apply for a Amateur Clinic will be required to fill in the application form and return it to the AQHA office at least 120 days prior to date that they wish to hold the Amateur Clinic.

This application includes a budget template which must also be completed and submitted as part of the application.

Claim for Subsidy

Attachment 1b is the “Claim for Subsidy” form that the Affiliate will need to fill in and return to our office at the completion of the Amateur Clinic.

Affiliates need to be aware that if they have any outstanding invoices with the AQHA eg: Caps to sell at Amateur Clinics be taken out of the subsidy prior to payment of your funding.
